VENUS ART |
Founded in 1969 with its base in Petaling Street, Kuala Lumpur, Venus Art started out as a stationery supplier that serviced major clients in the Kuala Lumpur region for over 4 decades. The proprietor, being an avid lover of arts and craft, was not contented with just wheeling and dealing with stationery as felt that more could be done to support the Local Malaysian Arts Scene. |
With the lack of support but a whole load of determination, he ventured into diversifying his core business manufacturing art materials in Malaysia. Today, Venus Art boasts one of the most extensive ranges of art materials from artist’s paints, molding materials to new generation batik paints and are expanding their base from being purely an arts supplier to offering workshops, home kits, events and numerous other art related activites.
The primary focus of Venus Art is on Research and Development, pioneering new ways for artists to get quality products and applications at a fraction of the traditional costs whitout compromising quality. Soon to be announced, Venus Arts will bring to you Art and Craft Activities for children to adults, in the hopes of spreading the joy and affordability of arts to everyone. |

THE HERITAGE STATION HOTEL |
The Heritage Station Hotel is located at the old Kuala Lumpur Railway Station, most distinctive Railway Station’s in Malaysia. The building has been gazetted as a heritage site since 1983. Designed by A.B. Hubback and officially opened on 1 August 1910, the Railway Station was then known as Federated Malayan States Railway which originally housed a hostel. The building draws inspiration from the Neo Moorish period heavily influenced by architecture from India, Turkey and Morroco. Much of the building is made out of wood, with minimal use of stone and cement. All the building materials were brought in directly from England. Unfortunately, many locals have forgotten about this building or the contributions by The Hubback Brothers to Malaya. |
We are a 170 room budget hotel, in following the historical tradition of the railway station, offering basic necessities with no frills. All our rooms come attached with a private bathroom. In our hotel, you will experience the simpler lifestyle of yesteryears, long since forgotten as you engulf yourself in the past glories of Malaysia’s Historical Colonial Past. At The Heritage Station Hotel, we are committed in creating a ‘community based model hotel’, where we will promote history, arts and culture via friendship, active participation and numerous events that will be hosted at the hotel in our designated exhibition spaces, conference rooms, food and beverage outlets.
These efforts will take time and we have begun promoting our community based model through numerous projects online and onsite. We are also open to participation from any individuals or organizations that would like to partner with us in our efforts to maintain and promote this grand old lady in Kuala Lumpur via our numerous projects. The Heritage Station Hotel in partnership with Venus Arts will be announcing the launch of their community art gallery called 'G-Artz' in the near furture. |
